Michele Comrie is a Toronto-based pianist, accompanist, and teacher working throughout the GTA. Specializing in RCM preparation, she teaches students of all ages, abilities, and experience levels. Michele has quickly established herself as an in-demand private teacher and is excited to continue growing her home studio in Leslieville.

Michele is a graduate of the University of Toronto, where she completed a Bachelor of Music degree studying with Boyanna Toyich. She is also a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association (ORMTA).

As a teacher, Michele takes an intuitive, student-centred approach, recognizing that every student learns differently. She works collaboratively with each student to understand their individual needs, interests, and goals, adapting her teaching methods to suit their learning style. With a foundation in classical training and an appreciation for contemporary music, Michele balances traditional technique and repertoire with pop, rock, and other styles that inspire her students. She welcomes a wide range of learning approaches and encourages students to develop their skills, confidence, and love of music in a way that feels meaningful to them.

Alongside her teaching, Michele maintains an active career as an accompanist. She is an experienced accompanist for the Kiwanis Music Festival and RCM examinations, collaborating with students across a variety of disciplines. She enjoys working with both students and fellow professionals to bring music to life.

Michele has guided students toward First Class Honours in RCM examinations, festival performances and competitions, and the exploration of new musical styles, including rock, pop, and beginner jazz improvisation. Whether preparing for an exam, learning a favourite song, or discovering a new musical interest, Michele strives to create a supportive and engaging environment where every student can grow on their own terms.
